Controlled by Archaeological Survey of India, Bodh Gaya Museum is located near the Mahabodhi temple. It houses antiquities excavated in and around Bodh Gaya. Museum has a large collection of Buddhist and Hindu relics, terracotta seals, scriptures and railings/pillars from the Sunga period (1 BC to 1 AD). Bodh Gaya Museum houses many artifacts and excavated articles which point towards the astonishing and modern lifestyle of the residents of the hidden societies.

Situated to the west of the Bodhi Temple and Bodhi Tree where achieved Enlightenment and became Lord Buddha, Bodhi Sarovar is located in the form of a pond in the district Gaya. It is said that Buddha took bath in this pond (Sarovar) before going for meditation. It is a beautiful place that is worth visiting.

He became a monk and tried to increase the divine knowledge through fasting and asceticism but became unsuccessful. Gautama, had been working austerities for six years in the area of the Niranjana River near Bodhgaya.

Located in the central part of the old town, this massive temple is believed to have been built over the footprints of Lord Vishnu. Inside the temple, the 40 cm long `footprint' of Vishnu is embossed in solid rock and encircled by a silver plated basin. This Shikhara style temple was built in 1787, by Queen Ahilya Bai of Indore, on the banks of the river Falgu. Non-Hindus are not allowed to enter the temple.
